Patterned Mama Bear and Cub in Landscape Layout

A large mama bear stands in profile with her head tipped up, and a small cub tucks in close beside her belly. The page is turned sideways, so the bears sit along the long edge of the paper. Both are filled with detailed patterns instead of plain fur. Big petal and leaf shapes cover the mother's body, scale-like layered curves run along her legs and back, and swirly designs fill her head and neck. The cub has its own smaller patterns, with round flower-like designs on its paws and face. The words "Happy Mother's Day!" appear in outlined bubble letters on the right side. Try coloring each petal in a slightly different shade of one color family, then use a contrasting set for the cub so it stands out next to its mom. Fine-tip markers or sharp colored pencils work well for the small sections. It's also a nice card idea for kids to give a mom or grandmother.
