Penguin Parent and Chick Among Flowers

A large adult penguin stands with its head bowed low, looking down at a small chick standing close beside it. The chick tips its head up toward the parent, and you can see two little tufts on top of its head. The adult's body is filled with detailed swirls, scallops and flower-like patterns, while its belly and flipper have simple wavy lines that leave bigger spaces for color. Behind them is a busy backdrop of big daisy-style flowers, curling spirals, pointed petals and a round globe-like shape near the adult's head. Try using soft grays and blues on the penguins and keeping the smooth belly a pale shade, then switch to bright colors for the flowers. It would make a sweet handmade card for Mom, since the pair shows a parent caring for a little one. The printable page works best with fine-tip markers or colored pencils.
