Pluto Finds a Big Turtle on the Beach

A floppy-eared dog sits on a sandy beach beside a large turtle that has ended up on its back. The turtle's shell is made of big rounded sections, and its head is stretched out toward the dog with a worried look. The dog leans in close with one paw resting on the shell and his long black ears hanging down. Behind them a leaning palm tree spreads wide, drooping leaves over a small patch of island plants. Along the bottom you can see a spiral seashell, a flat clamshell, a starfish and the curved edge of the water. Try coloring the shell panels in different shades of green and brown, then talk about how real turtles use their shells for protection. The big open areas also suit crayons for younger kids.
