Pond Paddle: Three Warrior Cats Swimming Past Lily Pads
Coloring guide
Three cats swim side by side across a rippling pond, with just their heads and shoulders showing and their wet fur in spiky clumps. The front cat looks right at you, and the other two turn slightly to the side. One has a striped tabby face, and one holds its tail up out of the water. Flat lily pads float around them, with two blooming water lilies in the bottom corners and tall cattails and reeds on both sides. Far off, a heron stands on a rocky bank by the opposite shore, with rounded trees and puffy clouds behind it. Lots of small ripples make this free printable good for patient colorists. Soft blues and teals suit the water, bright pink the lilies, and warm browns and oranges the tabby stripes. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the large river areas and water ripples with sky blue, leaving the white ripple lines untouched.
- 2Color the lily pads and grassy plants with grass green and lime green, then paint the lotus flowers in coral pink.
- 3Fill the front cat with tan and add chestnut brown stripes on its head and back, keeping its white chin and chest blank.
- 4Color the right cat in orange and golden yellow, and the left cat in warm gray with white on its face.
- 5Add the background trees in lime green and leaf green, the cattails in chestnut brown, the heron in steel blue, and the rocks in slate blue.
- 6Optional: add a little darker blue in the shadowed water near the cats to make the ripples pop.
