Popeye Holding Spinach Can on Wooden Dock

Popeye stands on a wooden dock with one hand on his hip and the other arm raised, holding up an open can of spinach with the leaves poking out the top. He wears his sailor cap, a neckerchief collar, a buttoned top and wide pants, and you can see an anchor drawn on his forearm. Behind him the dock planks stretch across the page, with thick mooring posts and a coiled rope ring on the right. Past the water there is a shoreline with a small house, a tall lighthouse and a hill on the far left. Try greens for the spinach and a deep blue for the sea, then use soft grays and browns on the dock boards so Popeye stands out. It also works well for talking about boats and harbors.
