Royal Carriage Ride with a Waving Princess
Coloring guide
Leaning out of her carriage window, a smiling princess with long wavy hair and a heart-topped tiara waves while two cute horses trot along a cobblestone path. The carriage has a curly, heart-decorated roof, draped curtains, flower-and-leaf vines, and big bows on the sides. Both horses wear bows in their manes and harnesses with little heart charms. A winding road runs behind them past a wooden fence and rolling hills to a castle with tall towers and flags. Two birds, a few butterflies, a sun, clouds, and flower beds round out the scene. The mix of big and small spaces works for both crayons and finer markers. Soft pink and lavender look good on the carriage and curtains, and bright yellow suits the tiara. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background: color the hills, bushes, and trees in leaf green and grass green, and leave the clouds and the sky white.
- 2Fill the carriage canopy and its curtains with rose pink, then add hot pink to the inner curtains and the heart ornaments on top.
- 3Color the carriage wheels and trim bands with golden yellow, and add lemon yellow to the sun in the sky.
- 4Paint the cobblestone path with sandy tan, and use dark green on the shrubs at the sides. Color the horses' hooves chocolate brown.
- 5Add cream yellow to the horses' manes and forelocks, color the princess's face and hand warm beige, and give the right horse's muzzle a pale blush touch. Keep the horse coats and eye whites white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker green or tan in the shadowed corners of the path to make the scene feel more layered.
