Road Runner Answering a Phone on a Cactus

Road Runner leaps into the air with one wing stretched out behind him and his tongue sticking out. In his other wing he holds a telephone receiver, and the long curly cord loops through the air and wraps around a tall cactus. A boxy pay phone is mounted on the cactus, with its little door swung open. The cactus has spiky needles and three flowers with pointed petals. Two puffy clouds float above, and the ground below is simple desert sand with a few dots and short lines. The big wing feathers and the cactus flowers are fun spots for detail work. Try sandy tans and oranges for the ground, then give the cactus flowers bright pink and yellow so they stand out. Kids could also trace the phone cord from the receiver to the cactus with a finger before coloring it.
