Sunrise Rooster Crowing on a Fence Post | Farm Animals (General)
Coloring guide
A proud rooster perches on a wooden fence post with his beak wide open, crowing while the sun rises over rolling hills behind him. His big fanned tail feathers sweep up on the left. Look for the scalloped comb, the wattle under his chin, layered wing feathers, and clawed toes gripping the post. Behind him are fluffy clouds, a half-risen sun with long rays, grassy tufts, and small bushes, with a wooden rail fence up front. Clean, bold outlines keep it approachable for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the feather sections give older children more to do. Red is a natural choice for the comb and wattle, with oranges, browns, and golds blended through the tail and warm yellow for the sun. Add this to your Farm Animals coloring page collection, alongside Zebra and Raccoon.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the clouds sky blue and the sun golden yellow, leaving the sky background white.
- 2Fill the grass, the rolling hill, and the bushes with light green and grass green, using forest green for the darker bushes.
- 3Paint the rooster's body and wings warm brown, with dark brown on the wing tips and light brown on the fence posts and rails.
- 4Color the big tail feathers with teal and sea green, deep teal blue at the lower tail, and dark olive green on the darkest edges.
- 5Add bright red to the comb and wattle, golden yellow to the neck and upper beak, and tangerine orange to the legs and feet, leaving the small gap between the legs white. Optional: add a few darker strokes on the wings and tail for depth.
