A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the rooster's comb and wattle in tomato red, then fill the head, neck and chest feathers with golden yellow, leaving the cheek patch cream and the eye white.
- 2Color the wing feathers with orange and amber yellow, and shade the lower body and tail base with chocolate brown and rust brown.
- 3Fill the big fan tail with sky blue and cobalt blue in the middle feathers, emerald green and forest green in the outer ones, and golden yellow for the round spots.
- 4Color the grass and bushes with lime green, leaf green, and grass green, and add yellow green to the lighter patches of the hills.
- 5Keep the clouds, sun rays, flower petals and fence posts white, then add the flower leaves in leaf green.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of deep teal along the edges of the tail feathers for depth.
