Coloring guide
On rippling water, a little sailboat floats beneath a starry sky lit by three big firework bursts. The boat has a tall mast with a small flag, two large sails with curved stripes, a cabin with windows, and three round portholes along the wooden hull. On the right shore, a striped lighthouse stands next to a small house and some bushes, with a tree-lined bank on the left. A cratered full moon sits in the top corner, and stars of many sizes are scattered between the fireworks. Wavy reflection lines mark the water, so there's lots of detail for small hands. Deep blue and purple suit the sky, with bright red, yellow and gold for the fireworks so they pop. It's a free printable for a summer holiday activity with kids who like detail. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big sails: color the main sail sections in sky blue and royal blue stripes, leaving the thin white bands between them white.
- 2Fill the hull with royal blue below the waterline and light gray along the middle band, then add the red stripe along the upper hull and bow.
- 3Color the flag red, the mast and boom in brown and steel blue, and the cabin windows in light blue.
- 4Add the water with ice blue and light blue ripples, then color the reflections under the boat in royal blue and olive gold for a shimmering look.
- 5Finish the fireworks in charcoal gray, navy blue, and golden yellow, color the shoreline and trees in leaf green and medium gray, and keep the lighthouse top and porthole centers white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker royal blue along the bottom edge of the sails and hull to give the boat some depth.
