San From Princess Mononoke With Face Markings

A girl with short, choppy hair is drawn from the shoulders up, her head turned slightly to one side with a calm, faint smile. A thin headband sits across her forehead with a round gem in the middle and a small triangle pendant hanging down. Two bold stripes run down her cheeks, and she wears large oval earrings and a twisted rope necklace that falls over a sleeveless top with a wide neckline. The jagged strands of hair give you plenty of small spaces to work with. Try earthy tones like reds, browns and creams for the clothing and jewelry, then use a darker shade for the stripes so they stand out. This free printable also works well for practicing shading on the hair, or for a short talk about how artists show expression with just the eyes and mouth.
