Sleepy Calico Critters Bear Tucked Under a Patchwork Quilt
Coloring guide
Fast asleep in a wooden bed, a little bear rests its head on a fluffy pillow, eyes shut and a gentle smile on its face. Two paws poke out above a patchwork quilt, where the squares show checks, polka dots and grids. A round window behind the bed frames a crescent moon and three small stars, so you know it's bedtime. A smaller teddy bear in a bow tie sits beside the bed, keeping watch. Bold, clean outlines and roomy quilt squares make this a good match for preschoolers and early elementary kids. It's free to print and fits a quiet-time or bedtime routine. Soft blues and purples would look cozy on the quilt, and a bright yellow moon helps the night sky glow. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the bear's head, paws and ears in light brown, and the teddy bear's head and belly in cream, leaving the paper white around them.
- 2Color the pillows and the lower bed frame in light blue, then the wooden bedposts, headboard and footboard knobs in brown.
- 3Fill the quilt with grass green, red, royal blue and sky blue patches, adding golden yellow checks on the top-left and bottom-left squares.
- 4Color the window panes navy blue, the window cross bars golden yellow and the crescent moon pale yellow, leaving the little stars white.
- 5Add the details: pink inner ears, red bow on the teddy bear, soft tan feet and cream paws. Optional: add a few darker strokes along the bed edges for depth.
