A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Color the pillow sky blue, leaving the soft fold lines uncolored so they show as creases.
2. 2Fill the window panes with navy blue, working carefully around the moon and the hanging stars.
3. 3Color the owl face and body light tan, then fill the hat and its pompom bright red, leaving the hat brim band white.
4. 4Color the wings and both window sills warm brown to add depth to the owl.
5. 5Fill the crescent moon with pale butter yellow, the three stars with sunny yellow, and the beak and feet with golden orange.
6. 6Optional: Add a little darker shading in the owl's wings and along the pillow edges to make the drawing feel more rounded.
