Slowpoke sits on a grassy bank looking drowsy, eyes closed, with a gentle smile that shows two tiny fangs. Its long tail dips into the pond and sends out ripples, right where a small fish swims close by. Tall cattails stand on the left and right, and little grass tufts and smooth rocks line the shore. Big, rounded shapes and thick, clear outlines make this free printable easy for preschoolers and early elementary kids. The calm scene is also nice for quiet time. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the big Slowpoke body with lavender gray, leaving the little curl highlights untouched.
- 2Color the snout and the cheek area dusty rose, keeping the two eye whites and the fang teeth white.
- 3Fill the paws with cream beige, then the grass ground and grass hill with lime green.
- 4Add the reeds and grass tufts in leaf green, leaving the thin pale highlight streaks white.
- 5Color the cattails cocoa brown and the fish tangerine orange to make them pop.
- 6Finish with the rocks in medium gray and, optionally, add a little darker shading along the body edges for depth.
