Boy in the Park Holding a Bunch of Five Balloons
Coloring guide
A cheerful boy with tousled hair stands on a grassy hill and holds up a bunch of five big balloons. He's dressed in a short-sleeved t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers, and his wide open-mouthed grin is fun to color. Every balloon has a shiny highlight curve and a small knot, and the thin strings are gathered in his fist. Behind him stands a fluffy tree with a bumpy leafy crown, a couple of low bushes, and small tufts of grass dotted across the ground. Big balloons and simple shapes work for little hands, and the tree and grass give older kids more to do. Try red, yellow, blue, green, and purple for the balloons so they pop against a leafy green tree. A free printable for a quiet afternoon or a classroom activity. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big tree and bushes: color the tree leaves and bushes with grass green and forest green, and the trunk with light brown, leaving the sky and background white.
- 2Fill the five balloons: make the yellow balloon golden yellow, the red one bright red, the green one grass green, the blue one sky blue, and the far right one orange, leaving the thin strings and shine spots white.
- 3Color the boy's t-shirt sky blue and his shorts denim blue, keeping the little pocket lime green.
- 4Paint the face, neck, ears, arms and legs skin peach, then color his hair dark brown.
- 5Finish the shoes bright red, leaving the soles and the socks white, and add the brown branches in the tree.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading to the tree and shirt with a slightly darker shade of the same color for more depth.
