Frog on a Lily Pad with Two Balloons
Coloring guide
A cheerful spotted frog sits on a big lily pad, holding the strings of two large round balloons, one in each hand. Its eyes are wide and sparkly, and the open-mouthed smile makes the page feel playful. The pond around it has gentle ripples, a blooming water lily at the bottom left, another beside the frog on the right and a smaller floating lily pad close by. Tall cattails with long leaves rise on both sides. The balloons have little shine marks, and the spots on the frog's cheeks, arms and legs make lots of small areas to color. Bright green suits the frog, and red and yellow balloons will stand out against the pond. Pink water lilies would be a nice touch. Print this sheet at home to add to your coloring stack. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big lily pad and the small lily pad at the bottom right in leaf green, leaving the lily pad's vein lines as dark outlines.
- 2Fill the frog's head, arms, hands, legs and feet in light green, then color the belly in pale yellow.
- 3Color the left balloon red and its knot red, and color the right balloon's knot bright blue, leaving both balloon shine spots white.
- 4Color the cattails brown and the tall grass blades with leaf green and forest green for a little contrast.
- 5Fill the lotus flowers with soft pink and hot pink petals, use rose pink for the front petals, and color the lotus center light peach or rose pink.
- 6Finish with the frog's coral pink cheeks and mouth, keep the eye whites and the tiny gaps beside the arms white, and add a sky blue touch to the lotus bud at the top. Optional: add a little darker green shading on the lily pad edges.
