Baby Hedgehog with Strawberries and a Berry Basket
Coloring guide
Standing upright in the grass, a baby hedgehog holds a big strawberry in both paws and smiles with its mouth open. Four more strawberries are stuck in the spiky fur on its back, and a woven basket of strawberries sits at its right side. Tufts of grass surround it, with a leafy plant on the left and two little flowers near the bottom. Round ears, big shiny eyes and bold outlines suit young colorers, and the spiky quills give older kids more to work through. Warm brown and tan for the quills and belly look good next to bright red strawberries with green leafy tops. Print it at home for a screen-free activity. - peach beige
- dark brown
- strawberry red
- light tan
- caramel brown
- leaf green
- blush pink
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the hedgehog's face, belly and paws in peach beige, leaving the eye whites, the flower petals and the basket rim white.
- 2Fill the big spiky body, back and side spines with dark brown, working around the face and held strawberry.
- 3Color the strawberries in strawberry red, leaving the little white flower petals on top of each one.
- 4Add the leaves on the strawberries and the grass in leaf green, then the flowers in the bottom corners stay white with just their outlines.
- 5Fill the woven basket with caramel brown, adding light tan on the paws for a little contrast, and tint the mouth with blush pink.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker strokes of dark brown along the spines for a bit of depth.
