Penguin With Ice Cream Cone on a Floating Ice Floe
Coloring guide
A cheerful baby penguin stands on a chunky slab of ice, holding up a cone with a scoop of ice cream and a cherry on top. It has big sparkly eyes, a little tuft of feathers on its head and an open smiling beak, and a round belly is outlined in the middle of its body. One flipper stretches out to hold the waffle-patterned cone. Three snowflakes drift in the sky around the penguin and a fourth sits right beside the cone. Two smaller ice blocks rest on either side, with simple wavy water lines below. Large shapes and clear outlines make this good for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A pink strawberry scoop, a bright red cherry and a golden-tan cone look great, with icy light blues for the floe and snowflakes. Print or download it free, and keep a few extra copies handy. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the ice floe and small ice blocks: color the floe and both little blocks in sky blue, and fill the lighter top surfaces with pale ice blue.
- 2Fill the penguin's head, back, flippers and arm in charcoal gray, leaving the face and belly white.
- 3Color the beak and both feet in tangerine orange, and add the tongue in hot pink inside the open mouth.
- 4Paint the ice cream scoops in bubblegum pink and the cherry in cherry red, then shade the waffle cone in golden tan.
- 5Color the snowflakes in sky blue, adding a touch of very pale blue to the top left one for a frosty look.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra sky blue shading along the bottom edges of the ice floe to make it look more icy.
