Space Rider on a Ricky Zoom Rocket Motorbike
Coloring guide
A little rider in a round bubble helmet grins from the seat of a chunky motorbike that zooms right through outer space. The bike has big treaded tires, wide handlebars, a rounded fuel tank and an exhaust pipe puffing a small flame out the back. Five-point stars and tiny circles fill the page, along with a ringed planet at the top left, a crescent moon with craters at the top right, a wavy-striped planet at the bottom left and a cratered moon at the bottom right. Thick, clean outlines and large open areas keep it easy for small hands. Deep purple and navy would suit the planets, bright yellow the stars, and orange and red the little flame. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background shapes: fill the helmet, the front and rear tires, and the planet and moon with their main colors, using sky blue for the helmet and slate gray for the tires.
- 2Color the astronaut's face peach and the mouth coral pink, leaving the eye whites and the small shine spots on the helmet white.
- 3Fill the seat, fuel tank, frame and fender areas in bright red, then add the ocean blue handlebars, front fork and tank panel.
- 4Use golden yellow for the stars, the rocket flame, the rings and the hub details, and tangerine for the top planet's body.
- 5Add violet purple to the lower-right planet and ocean blue to the striped planet, then finish the small details like grips and ear pads.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of slate gray on the tires and a little extra shine on the helmet to make it pop.
