Coloring guide
A big, friendly star with a happy face sits in the center here. Its eyes are wide, its cheeks are rosy, its smile is small, and seven pointed rays reach out around it. Rings of smaller shapes circle the star like a mandala. Five-pointed stars sit near the middle, with outlined circles and triangles repeating in rings farther out, and bigger stars close off the design at the top, bottom and sides. The lines are clean and the shapes are roomy, so preschoolers and early elementary kids can handle it, and older children may find it a calm activity too. Bright yellow works for the smiling star, with alternating blues and purples on the triangles and pink or orange circles in between. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big smiling star in the center, the two upper corner stars, the small star above the center and the two small stars on each side with sunny yellow, leaving the eyes white with black outlines and the smile unfilled.
- 2Fill the top star and the bottom star with sky blue, along with the round dots scattered around the edge and the small dots near the bottom center.
- 3Use tangerine orange for the two lower corner stars and the two dots at the very top beside the top star.
- 4Color the two medium stars in the middle corners with mint green on the right and violet purple on the left, plus the two small stars near the lower sides in mint green.
- 5Fill the big side triangles, the lower side triangles and the two triangles near the top with violet purple, then color the remaining triangles with bright red.
- 6Optional: Add light shading along one side of the big star and the triangles with a slightly darker shade of the same color to make them pop.
