Melting Ice Cream Cone with Smiling Sun and Baby Chick
Coloring guide
A happy sun with big sparkly eyes and an open smile peeks over a giant scoop of ice cream that has started to melt. Thick drips slide down the side of a waffle cone, two drops fall through the air and a puddle has gathered on the ground. Next to the puddle, a little round chick stands looking up at the drips with its beak open. Small tufts of grass sit on both sides of the page. The sun's rays are chunky and easy to outline, and the large shapes are friendly for younger kids using crayons or chunky markers. A warm orange and yellow sun, a pink strawberry scoop and a pale blue puddle would make the melting look real. Save it as a free PDF, which is great for kids and coloring fans of all ages. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big ice cream scoop, the base, the drips, and the puddle bubblegum pink, leaving the thin curved shine on the scoop white.
- 2Fill the sun's face and the chick's body and wing with lemon yellow, then color the sun's smiling mouth coral pink.
- 3Color the sun's rays golden orange, and use soft coral for the two rays peeking out behind the scoop.
- 4Color the chick's beak tangerine orange and leave its eye highlight and feet white.
- 5Fill the waffle cone with caramel brown, working in sections so the grid lines stay clear.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading with a slightly darker shade of each color near the edges for depth.
