Smiling Whale Shark With Spotted Fins and Tail

Coloring guide
A big, friendly whale shark swims toward the viewer with its wide mouth open in a happy smile. Its round eye looks upward, and the broad flat head takes up much of the page. Small dots and oval spots cover the tail, the dorsal fin, the long pectoral fin pointing down, and the side of the body. The large, smooth head is left mostly blank, which gives little hands plenty of room for bold color. Try blue and gray tones for the body, then fill in the spots with white or yellow crayon for a realistic whale shark look. It also works well for a quick ocean lesson, since whale sharks are known for their spotted patterns. This printable page suits kids who like a mix of big open areas and small detailed dots.
