Smiling Woman Flexing Beside Columns and Roses

A smiling woman with long flowing hair stands on a paved path in front of a short set of stairs, flexing both arms with her fists raised. She wears a sleeveless knee-length dress with a wide belt that has an oval decoration in the middle and a pattern of small squares along the hem. Strappy flat sandals finish the outfit. Two tall fluted columns frame the scene, and spiky-edged roses with swirled centers line both sides of the steps. Evergreen trees stand in the background, and a decorative scrolled railing appears on the right. Because the figure is not clearly identifiable, she is described generically here. Try coloring the roses in a few different shades, then talk with kids about how warm and cool colors change the feel of the garden. The large open areas of the dress and path are easy for small hands to fill in, and this free printable works well for a quiet classroom activity.
