Skateboard Trick With Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic is pulling off a skateboard trick here, crouched low with one gloved hand reaching for the board and the other flung out into the air. His quills sweep back, he's smiling big, and his eyes are fixed on the board below. The board is tilted, so you can clearly see the wheels, the trucks, and the oval pattern on the deck. Nothing is drawn behind him, which leaves lots of white space and keeps things easy for kids. A tiny colored version in the top corner works as a guide. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring Sonic's quills, head and the main blue parts of the skateboard in royal blue, leaving the eye whites untouched.
- 2Fill the red sneakers and the red wheels with bright red, keeping the wheels bright and bold.
- 3Color the yellow stripe at the tip of the skateboard with golden yellow, then add medium gray to the shoes and the gray truck parts.
- 4Use light gray for the wheel bodies and small parts, and pale peach for the ears, muzzle and tan hand areas.
- 5Leave the gloves, the eye whites and the shine spots white, and finish by darkening the board outline with near black.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading with a darker blue on the underside of the quills to give them depth.
