Spotted Warrior Cats Kitten Leaping Through Grass

Coloring guide
A happy spotted kitten bounds through the air with a big open-mouthed smile, front paws stretched out and back legs kicking behind. Its long tail curls up high, and round spots cover the body, legs and tail, so there are lots of small shapes to fill in. Tall grass tufts, a few rounded bushes and two simple flowers make up the ground below, and a sun with straight rays shines in the top right corner. Bold, clean outlines and big open areas work well for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the spots give older children room for extra detail. Golden yellow or warm orange fur with brown spots would look great, along with bright greens for the grass and sunny yellow for the sun. Download the free PDF for a screen-free activity at home. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the kitten's whole body and front legs golden orange, leaving the small shine spot in each eye white.
- 2Fill the lower back leg, the fluffy ear tufts, and the cheek fur with cream to show the lighter patches.
- 3Color the sun sunny yellow, then add coral pink to the inside of the right ear, the nose, and the tongue.
- 4Add chocolate brown spots along the tail tip, back, belly, and hip, and leave a few spots unfilled if you like.
- 5Color the grass and bushes with light green and grass green, and fill the flower petals with cream.
- 6Optional: add a few darker orange strokes on the kitten's body for a soft shaded look.
