Sunflower and Poppy Bouquet, Aesthetic Vase Page

Two big sunflowers with dotted centers lead this bouquet, which stands in a round glass vase half full of water. Look closely and you'll notice the stems crisscrossing below the waterline. Beside them are two large poppies with open petals and little stamens, a few small daisy-like blooms, sprigs of lavender and two closed buds on curved stems. Serrated leaves spill over the rim of the vase. The vase rests on a simple table with horizontal lines, and four loose petals lie around its base. Large petals plus fine details make it a good match for kids who enjoy a longer, calmer session, and this free printable works for older children too. Warm yellow and orange for the sunflowers, red or coral for the poppies and soft purple for the lavender would look nice, with the water left pale blue. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sunflower petals, the sunflower centre rings left white, and the fallen petals on the table in golden yellow.
- 2Fill both large poppy blooms and the poppy bud shapes in poppy red, leaving the small highlights on the petals white.
- 3Color the leaves and the stems with bright green, adding a few sage green and leaf green touches to the lower stems and leaves.
- 4Paint the water inside the vase and the lower part of the glass with sky blue, keeping the glass shine and rim white.
- 5Fill the table planks with wood brown, then add dark olive to the small bud shadows.
- 6Optional: add a little extra shading by pressing harder at the edges of the petals and leaves for a softer, layered look.
