Surprised Baby Wrapped in Striped Blanket

A round-headed baby with wide eyes and an open, happy mouth is bundled in a pointed blanket with two stripes across the middle. One small hand pokes up on the left side of the head and the other hand is raised near the chin. The baby has thick, dark lashes, a swirl on the cheek, and a tiny halo-like ring floating above the head on a thin line. A little crown-shaped burst mark sits near the top right, which adds to the startled look. The blanket tip curls at the bottom and the wrap flares out at the right. Try coloring the two blanket stripes in contrasting shades, such as soft yellow and pale blue, then talk with your child about what might have surprised the baby. This free page also gives small hands good practice with the swirl and lash details.
