Sledding Teddy on a Candy Cane Sled

Wearing a striped scarf, a happy teddy bear zooms down a grassy hill on a sled made of two big candy canes. The paw pads show on both feet. The bear grips the curled candy cane runners with an open-mouth smile, and the scarf fringe flutters out behind. Speed lines trail along the left side of the slope. Small grass tufts, round striped candies scattered over the hill, and a bushy shrub on the far ridge fill out the scene. The fuzzy fur gives kids lots of small spots to practice careful strokes, while the wide candy cane stripes are easy for little hands. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the bear's fur and body: fill the bear's head, chest, arms, and legs with caramel brown, and fill the inner ears and paw pads with soft cream.
- 2Color the scarf with bright red and golden yellow stripes, alternating bands across the scarf and fringe.
- 3Fill the candy cane sled with bright red stripes, leaving the white stripes uncolored so they stay bright white.
- 4Add chocolate brown to the sled seat and the darker paw pads, then use deep red for the shaded curves of the candy cane.
- 5Color the background bush and grass with leaf green, and the small balls with sky blue, leaf green, and golden yellow stripes.
- 6Optional: Add a little deep red shading along one side of the candy cane and the bear's body to make the colors pop.
