Thresher Shark With Long Curved Tail Outline

A single thresher shark swims toward the left side of the page, drawn in clean black outline with plenty of white space inside. The most eye-catching part is the extremely long tail, which sweeps up and to the right in a graceful curve and ends in a small tip. You will also see a pointed snout, a small round eye, a little curved mouth, and four short gill lines behind the head. A tall triangular fin rises from the back, and a long narrow pectoral fin hangs down from the body. Smaller fins sit along the belly and near the tail. The large open shapes are easy for kids to fill in. Try shading the back darker blue-gray and leaving the belly lighter, then talk about how the tail helps this shark swim.
