A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big green areas: color the pine trees and the bushes in forest green, leaf green and grass green, leaving the sky and the bright background white.
- 2Color the birch tree trunks in a soft cream white, and keep the white bark markings and the bird's highlights untouched.
- 3Fill the skin of both kids, including the faces, hands and the girl's pointing finger, with peach.
- 4Color the boy's jacket and boots in sky blue, red and brown, and the girl's jacket in pink with purple and dark brown details on her backpack and boots.
- 5Use light brown for the boy's hair and the girl's ponytail, then add olive green to his pants and sky blue to her pants.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker shade of each color on the shadowed sides of the jackets and trunks for extra depth.
