Whale Shark with Spotted Back and Striped Tail

Coloring guide
A large whale shark swims toward the left side of the page, its wide flat mouth open to show a row of small pointed teeth. The head and front half of the body are covered in lots of little round dots, while the back half changes to vertical bands, each with a few bigger circles inside. You can see a small angled eye, a set of gill slits behind the head, a big pointed dorsal fin with stripes, a broad side fin, a small lower fin, and a tall tail fin with spots. The lines are thick and clean, so younger kids can stay inside them fairly easily. Try coloring the body in blues and grays and leaving the dots white or pale yellow, just like the pattern on a real whale shark. It also works well for a lesson on ocean animals, since you can ask kids to count the gill slits or the stripes.
