Basket of Apples and a Pear for Thanksgiving Harvest
Coloring guide
In the middle of the page sits a big woven basket holding four apples, each with a stem and a leaf. A thick rope-style handle arches over the top, the rim is twisted rope, and the sides have a brick-like weave of rectangles. Two more apples rest on the ground out front, and a pear with its own stem and leaf stands on the right. Little tufts of grass poke up in the bottom corners. Bold, clean outlines and roomy shapes work well for preschoolers and early elementary kids with crayons or markers. Mix red, green and yellow across the apples, then use warm browns and tans on the basket so the rope handle and woven bricks show up. This free printable suits fall or harvest lessons and activity tables. This page is part of our Thanksgiving coloring pages collection — check out New Year and Easter too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the apples in apple red, leaving small white shine spots near the top of each apple.
- 2Color the pear in lime green and all the leaves in leaf green, including the leaves on the pear and the bottom-left apple.
- 3Fill the twisted rope rim and handle of the basket with bright yellow, keeping the background inside the handle white.
- 4Color the woven basket bricks in warm brown, light brown, dark brown, and golden yellow, alternating shades to give a woven look.
- 5Optional: Add a little darker shading on the sides of the apples and pear, and along the edges of the basket for depth.
- 6Leave the background and the grass at the bottom white, then finish by outlining any spots you missed.
