Football Practice Run Beside a Tackling Dummy
Coloring guide
On a grassy practice field, a smiling young player in a helmet with a face mask, shoulder pads, jersey, padded pants and cleats leans into his stride. A tall tackling dummy with handles on the sides stands next to him. Orange traffic cones are scattered around, and a football lies in the grass near his feet. A wooden fence and a row of rounded bushes sit behind, with grass tufts drawn across the ground. Color the helmet and jersey in your favorite team colors, then use bright orange for the cones and brown for the football. Bold outlines and open spaces make it easy with crayons, markers or colored pencils, so it's a good choice for young sports fans at home or at school. Looking for more? A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- bright blue
- bright red
- grass green
- peach skin
- orange
- navy blue
- forest green
- chocolate brown
- charcoal black
- light gray
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big green areas: color the grass and bushes in grass green, and the trees in forest green, leaving the fence rails and the white field lines uncolored.
- 2Fill the tackling dummy in bright blue, with a navy blue shadow at its base and the middle bands left as thin lines.
- 3Color the jersey, shoulder pads, helmet, and socks in bright red, leaving the helmet stripe, sleeve stripes, and knee pads white.
- 4Add the orange cones, the peach skin tones on the face, neck, and arms, and chocolate brown on the football, keeping the football laces white.
- 5Finish with charcoal black shoes and light gray face mask and side handles, then add chocolate brown to the hair.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shade on one side of the jersey and the dummy to give the drawing more depth.
