A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Start with the big areas: fill the pond water and the distant bushes and grass with sky blue and leaf green, leaving the background sky white.
2. 2Color the lily pads and reeds in leaf green and teal green, then paint the dock planks, posts and cattails in wood brown.
3. 3Fill the zombie boy's skin on his face, hands, knees and feet with peach skin, leaving the eye whites and teeth white.
4. 4Color the hat in warm yellow with amber orange on the band, then add coral orange to the torn shirt and denim blue to the shorts.
5. 5Paint the boat in chestnut brown and the fish in pale olive with a cream belly, and add rose pink to the lotus flower and sunny yellow to its center.
6. 6Optional: add darker tones in the same colors on the shadow side of the dock, boat and shorts for a bit more depth.
