A grinning zombie boy glides along a sidewalk on his skateboard, arms stretched out to keep his balance. He has messy hair, big round eyes, a gap in his teeth and a patch on his head, plus a bandage wrapped around one arm. His shirt and shorts are full of ragged holes, and he wears chunky sneakers on a four-wheeled board. Behind him you'll find a large leafy tree, grass tufts and bushes, a fire hydrant on the right and a sun with straight rays in the corner. The big open shapes suit kids who like silly Halloween characters that aren't too scary. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big ground areas: fill the sidewalk and road with light gray, and the grass patches with grass green, leaving the tree and background white.
- 2Color the zombie's skin, arms, hands, neck and ears with lime green, and the hair too, keeping the eye whites and teeth white.
- 3Paint the shirt orange and the jeans and skateboard deck royal blue, and fill the fire hydrant and sneakers with bright red.
- 4Color the sun and the skateboard wheels golden yellow, and the skateboard truck medium gray.
- 5Add the small details: the open mouth and forehead spot in coral pink, the socks in light pink, the knee patch in coral pink, and the star patches in pale gold, keeping the arm bandage white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading along the edges of the shirt and jeans for a bit more depth.
