Zoo Animal I Spy in Fenced Pens
Coloring guide
Each of the six smiling animals in this busy zoo scene gets its own round fenced pen. At the top left, a happy elephant lifts its trunk, and a spotted giraffe stands tall at the top right. Beneath them, a little monkey hangs from a leafy branch with its tail curled, and a lion with a big fluffy mane sits calmly on a rocky patch. Along the bottom, a striped zebra stands near some grassy tufts, and a penguin waddles on a flat rock by the water. A winding path with small stepping stones runs between the pens, with bushes and trees filling in the gaps. Kids who like counting animals or hunting for details will have fun with this printable. Warm yellow and orange work well for the lion's mane and the giraffe spots, and leafy greens suit the trees and bushes. Add this to your I Spy coloring page collection, alongside Bubble Letters and Countries.

- 1Start with the big green areas: color the trees, bushes, and grass patches in leafy green and light grass green.
- 2Color the sandy winding path in pale sand, leaving the small pebble dots white.
- 3Fill the animals' big shapes: the elephant and penguin body parts in cool gray and charcoal gray, the giraffe, lion mane and lion body in golden yellow and rust brown.
- 4Color the wooden fences and pen bases in wood brown and caramel tan, and the monkey and tree trunks in rust brown and dark bark brown.
- 5Add the rocks and icy platform in cool gray, then use coral pink for the elephant trunk.
- 6Optional: Leave the penguin belly, zebra body and zebra muzzle white, and add a little darker shading under the lion mane for depth.
