Basket of Apples With Rope Handle

Coloring guide
Most of this page is taken up by a big woven basket with a tall, arched rope handle. Five round apples with stems and pointed leaves are piled inside, and two more sit on the ground at the bottom, one on each side, with a few loose leaves around them. The twisted rope rim and brick-like weave give kids lots of texture to work on. The big apple shapes are easy to fill in, so it works for preschoolers, and older children can add extra detail. Golden-brown and tan fit the basket and handle, and a mix of red, green and yellow apples gives a bright harvest look. It's a free printable for a fall activity or a quiet-time table. This fits right in with our Apple coloring pages — see also For Girls and For Kids.

- 1Fill the apples with apple red, leaving the small white shine spots on each apple unpainted.
- 2Color all the leaves with leaf green, and the apple stems with chestnut brown (the stem on the left apple is olive brown).
- 3Fill the woven basket strips with pale sand, leaving the brown upright slats for the next step.
- 4Color the upright slats of the basket in chestnut brown, and the rope rim and handle in caramel tan.
- 5Optional: Add a little extra apple red along the lower edges of the apples for depth, and keep the background white.
