Big Simple Apple With One Leaf

Coloring guide
One big, round apple takes up the whole page here, outlined with thick, smooth lines that are easy for small hands to trace. The short stem comes up out of a little dip at the top, and a single pointed leaf with one center vein curves off to the right. Over on the left side there's a curved, shiny stripe that makes the apple look glossy. You can color it or leave it white. Since the white background is plain and empty, kids can just focus on the fruit, which makes this a nice pick for preschoolers practicing how to stay inside the lines. Cherry red for the apple, green for the leaf and brown for the stem all work well, and leaving the highlight blank gives it a bit of shine. You can print it free as a PDF. Looking for more? - leaf green
- warm brown
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big apple body in apple red, working in gentle strokes and leaving the long curved shine on the left side white.
- 2Fill the leaf on the upper right in leaf green, following its pointed shape.
- 3Color the stem and the small top of the stem in warm brown, keeping the lighter stripe of the top ring simple.
- 4Leave the curved shine on the left side of the apple white so it looks glossy.
- 5Optional: Add a few diagonal strokes in a slightly darker red on the apple and darker green on the leaf for a textured, pencil-like look.
