Right on top of a big, chunky capital A sits a smiling little apple with a leaf on its stem. Behind the letter is a puffy, cloud-shaped tree crown dotted with leaves, and the branches stretch out on both sides of the A as if the apple is getting a cheer going. Three more apples rest at the bottom, one on each side of the letter and one in the middle, with small tufts of grass between them. The triangle cutout in the A and the wide outlines are easy for small hands to handle. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big round tree canopy at the top with lime green, leaving the leaf shapes uncolored for now.
- 2Fill the large letter A and the three bottom apples plus the smiling apple on top with cherry red, keeping the small triangle inside the letter and the gap between the letter's legs white.
- 3Color the tree trunks and the apple stems warm brown.
- 4Fill all the leaves with leaf green, including the ones on the canopy and the ones on the apples.
- 5Optional: add a few darker strokes of leaf green or cherry red for shading, and leave the eyes, smile and apple highlights white.
