Kite Day on a Hill With a Doraemon-Style Astronaut Cat
Coloring guide
Across a grassy hill runs a cheerful cat in a space suit and headphone-style helmet, gripping the string of a big diamond-shaped kite floating high overhead. The cat has a wide smile, big sparkly eyes, whiskers, a striped tail and a long striped scarf blowing out behind. Its suit has a round button on the chest and chunky boots. The kite's tail is decorated with bows, and three puffy clouds drift by. Farther back, a small house with a chimney sits on a distant hill next to a winding path, and tufts of grass and little flowers fill the front. Large shapes and clear outlines suit preschoolers and early elementary kids. Try red and yellow stripes on the scarf against a bright blue sky. The free PDF prints at home with no sign-up. This fits right in with our Doraemon coloring pages — see also Shimmer and Shine and Puppy Dog Pals.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big sky shapes: color the clouds in light blue, leaving their outlines crisp.
- 2Fill the kite with sunny yellow on the top panel, leaf green on the lower left, and sky blue on the right, then add cherry red to the bows on the tail.
- 3Color the cat's head and tail in golden orange, then add soft pink inside the ears and mouth.
- 4Paint the spacesuit and boots in sky blue and bright blue, adding light blue on the arm and boot tops, and use cherry red for the long scarf.
- 5Add grass green to the bushes, cream to the house walls, cherry red to the roof, and sand beige to the little path.
- 6Finish with the small details: sunny yellow on the chest button, bright blue on the headphones and helmet, and leave the eye whites, the white joints, and the flower centers white. Optional: add a little darker shade on one side of the helmet for depth.
