Astronaut on the Moon Printable For Kids
Coloring guide
On the cratered surface of the moon, a happy young astronaut in a bubble helmet holds a tall pole with both gloved hands, planting it in a small mound of lunar soil. The spacesuit has a backpack, a chest control panel, knee pads, chunky boots and a sleeve patch, so there's lots to color. A little moon rover with a satellite dish sits near several craters behind the astronaut, and Earth hangs in the sky among scattered stars of different sizes. Bold lines and fairly large shapes suit preschoolers and early elementary kids with crayons or markers. Deep blue oceans and green continents on Earth would look great, and the suit could get a bright pop of orange or red. This free PDF fits a space unit or a quiet afternoon. Looking for more? - 2Fill the astronaut's face with peach skin, then color the hair chocolate brown and the helmet visor pale blue, keeping the eye whites and smile white.
- 3Color the backpack and its top bright red, and the walking pole, rover body and stars golden yellow.
- 4Add the astronaut's boots, gloves, and knee pads in bright blue, and color the rover wheels dark gray with light gray details.
- 5Use medium gray for the moon craters and rocks, and add the satellite dish and rover details in light gray.
- 6Optional: Leave the suit parts white, and add a small terracotta red patch on the arm for a finishing touch.
