Sitting on a grassy patch in front of a tall stone castle, a smiling baby dragon has its little wings spread and its tail curled around its feet. A wooden drawbridge hangs from two chains behind it, in front of a raised portcullis gate. The castle has three pointed towers, each with a waving flag, plus arched windows and crenellated walls. A winding cobblestone path leads up to the entrance. Look around and you'll spot pine trees, rolling mountains, a river with a small village on the far bank, puffy clouds and a big sun with rays. Flowers and leafy plants fill the bottom corners. Bright green scales with orange wing membranes would suit the dragon, and soft grays work well for the stone bricks. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big stone castle: fill the towers, walls and battlements with stone gray, leaving the arched windows and the gate grille white for now.
- 2Paint the mountains with medium blue and ocean blue, keep the snowy peaks white, and color the left cloud with pale sky blue.
- 3Color the baby dragon: lime green for the head, body, and feet, pale cream for the belly, and leave the horns and eyes white for shine.
- 4Fill the wings with golden yellow, then color the bushes and grass with grass green and forest green, and the stony path with sandy beige.
- 5Use chocolate brown and light brown for the wooden drawbridge and gate, and coral red for the tower roofs and flags.
- 6Optional: add a few darker shadows on the castle walls and the tree lines with a slightly deeper shade of the same colors for extra depth.
