Baby Elephant in a Flower Garden, a Hard / Detailed Coloring Page
Coloring guide
Standing in a blooming garden, a smiling baby elephant wears a mandala-patterned blanket with tassels along the edge. The same intricate patterns decorate its ears, forehead, trunk and the bands around its legs, which makes this a great pick for older kids, teens or adults who like fine-tipped markers and small spaces. Large flowers, leafy plants and bushes surround the elephant, and a tree with blossoms stands in the upper corner. Rolling mountains, puffy clouds and a domed pavilion on the right sit behind it, and a pond with lily pads is near the trunk. Deep jewel tones like ruby red, teal and gold would look rich on the blanket, with soft pinks and purples on the flowers so the elephant stands out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big elephant body, head, and legs in cornflower blue, leaving the patterned ears and blanket white for now.
- 2Fill the ear edges, the dome top, and the trunk tip stripes with golden yellow and bright orange.
- 3Color the mountains and the sky background in sky blue, and the fluffy clouds in pale blue.
- 4Paint the bushes and trees in leaf green and the grass and lower plants in lime green, with the tree trunk in brown.
- 5Add turquoise to the blanket and trunk patterns, pink to the ear flowers and garden blooms, and peach to the feet and leg bands.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading under the elephant and along the bushes to make the drawing pop, and keep the mandala details and tiny highlights white.
