Three friends stroll along a jungle path in this detailed scene: a cheerful baby lion cub, a smiling little elephant and a grinning monkey. The lion cub with its fluffy mane walks right up front, the elephant trots alongside with its trunk curled, and the monkey peeks over the top with one arm hanging onto a vine. A winding stream runs behind them toward a waterfall tucked between tall trees. Big monstera leaves, hanging vines, ferns and flowers fill the page edges, including a hibiscus in the bottom corner. Large animal faces mixed with smaller leafy patterns work well for kids who enjoy both easy and detailed areas. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big jungle greens: fill the leaves, palm fronds and tree foliage in leaf green and forest green, and the bushes in lime green.
- 2Color the elephant's head, body and legs in light gray, then add the pink ear on the side of its head.
- 3Paint the lion's mane and ears in chocolate brown, then fill the lion's face, body and legs with golden yellow and its paws with cream.
- 4Color the monkey's face, belly, ears and hands in light peach, and its hair, arms and tail in chocolate brown.
- 5Add the stream and waterfall in sky blue, keep the white splash at the base of the falls white, and color the rock warm gray. Use sandy tan for the dirt path.
- 6Finish with the hibiscus flowers in coral red and the flower bushes in lime green. Optional: add a little darker shading on the elephant and lion for depth.
