A floppy-eared puppy sits in the sand with its tongue out, pressing a little bucket-shaped turret onto the top of a sandcastle. The castle has three towers with battlements and an arched doorway at the front. Gentle waves roll toward the shore behind the puppy, a small sailboat floats near the horizon, and two puffy clouds drift across the sky. Close by are a pail with a handle, a small shovel, a scallop shell, a starfish and a striped beach ball. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky clouds and sailboat sails: color the two clouds pale blue, and color the sailboat's top sail bright red and its lower sail golden yellow.
- 2Fill the sea and the sea waves with sky blue, leaving the foam on the shore white.
- 3Color the puppy's fur caramel brown, including the head, ears, body, paws and tail, then color the puppy's tail and back leg cream.
- 4Color the sandcastle and the sand with sandy yellow, and use amber orange for the right tower and the castle doorway. Leave the sand in the foreground white where it looks like sea foam.
- 5Color the beach ball with bright red, golden yellow, sky blue and orange red panels, keeping the center circle white. Use bright blue for the bucket and bright red for the shovel.
- 6Finish the details: make the puppy's tongue coral pink, the starfish tangerine orange, the seashell lavender purple, and leave the eye whites and the ball center white. Optional: add a little darker shading on the puppy's fur to make it look fluffy.
