Bell Tower Ringing Out for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Coloring guide
A stone bell tower stands in the middle of this Martin Luther King Jr. Day coloring page, with a large bell hanging inside an arched opening. Curved sound lines on both sides show the bell ringing. The tower has a scalloped, pointed roof with a cross on top, a brick-style base, and a tall arched window. Three small birds fly around the tower, and flowers and rounded bushes sit in the bottom corners. Bold outlines and open shapes keep it easy for kids to color, and the bricks give older children something to work on. Since the bell and sound waves suggest freedom ringing, it could kick off a talk about hope and peace in a classroom or at home. Warm golden tones suit the bell, gray and soft brown work for the stones, and bright spring colors fit the flowers and birds. It's a free printable PDF, ready to print. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the roof, the small cross on top, and the wall stones: color the roof terracotta red and the cross golden yellow.
- 2Fill the tower's stone walls and the base with light gray, leaving the stones as separate blocks.
- 3Color the bell golden yellow, with its lower rim in tangerine orange and the wooden beam in warm brown.
- 4Paint the cream beige pillars, arch, and ledges, then fill the arched door with royal blue.
- 5Color the birds sky blue, and the grass and flower leaves leaf green. Keep the flower petals, the inside of the bell tower opening, and the sound waves white.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading on the stones and roof with a slightly darker shade of the same color to make the tower look more solid.
