Owl on a Wooden Post Beneath a Crescent Moon

Up on top of a wooden post, a little round-eyed owl grips the edge with its toes and looks straight out at you. A big crescent moon hangs behind it, and three puffy clouds and five small stars are scattered across the night sky. A rail runs along the bottom on both sides of the post. The owl has tufted ears, large circular eye patches with shiny pupils, a small pointed beak, scalloped belly feathers and folded wings. Big shapes and clean, bold lines make this free printable a good match for preschoolers and early elementary kids still building pencil control. Deep blues and purples work for the sky and moon, with warm browns and golden tan on the owl so it pops. The wood grain on the post is a nice spot to practice light shading with crayons.
