Coloring guide

Here's a fluffy owlet looking out from a round hole in a big tree trunk, with its two little feet resting on the bottom edge. It has large round eyes with shiny highlights, a tiny pointed beak, a tuft of feathers on its head and scalloped feathers across the chest. The bark around the hole is drawn in long wavy lines, so there's lots of room for texture. You'll find an oak leaf in the upper left, another leaf in the lower right, and an acorn with a curved stem hanging near the bottom left. Outlines are bold and the shapes are big, which works well for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Golden browns and creamy tans suit the feathers, and deep brown bark with orange or red leaves gives it a cozy fall feel. The PDF is free to print at home, no sign-up needed. This fits right in with our Owl coloring pages — see also Octopus and Snake.
