Blocky Ninjago Dragon With Long Blade Wings

This page is filled by a blocky, brick-built dragon. Its snarling head is on the right, with sharp teeth, spiky ridges and a curled whisker. Behind the head, the central body is built from angled panels and round studs. Two poles with little flags rise from the top, clawed legs reach out underneath, and long, narrow blade-like wings sweep out in several directions. Some of the wings are marked with a small OXXXX pattern. With no background at all, the dragon is the whole scene. The detailed shapes make it a good challenge for older kids. Silvery gray and white would look nice on the wings, with bright green or gold on the head and claws to make it stand out. Print it free for a classroom project or weekend craft. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the long blades: color the wing blades and tail blades bright blue, and leave the zigzag lines white.
- 2Fill the main body panels and the blocky pieces on the back with bright blue, then use steel blue on the lower side panels.
- 3Color the round shoulder pieces, the middle plates and the lower tail disc golden yellow, and add pale gold to the top tower blocks.
- 4Use charcoal gray for the dark body panels and the small blocks near the middle, and medium gray for the upper rods and small joints.
- 5Color the dragon head with fire red on the eye and cheek areas and bright red on the small details, add orange to the top fin, and keep the eye area, teeth and claw tips white.
- 6Optional: add a little shading with a slightly darker blue on the blades and a darker gray on the body to make the shapes pop.
