Boy Handing Mom a Mother's Day Bouquet in the Garden
Coloring guide
A grinning little boy in a short-sleeved shirt, shorts and velcro sneakers lifts a big bouquet toward his mom. She has long hair and bends down with a delighted smile, reaching out to take the flowers. Her outfit is a short-sleeved top, a belted flowing skirt and flat shoes. The scene is set in front of a picket fence and rounded bushes, with a sunny sky full of rays and two puffy clouds overhead. Grass tufts and daisy-style flowers fill the foreground corners. The bouquet has big petals, including open flowers and tulip-like buds, so it's easy to color. Pink, yellow and purple will make it stand out against the green bushes and grass. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big clothing areas: color the mom's long skirt and shoes lavender purple, the boy's shirt sky blue, and his shorts sandy yellow.
- 2Fill the mom's top and waistband with rose pink, then color the boy's shoes royal blue and leave their laces pale blue gray.
- 3Add the garden: color the bushes and grass leaf green, adding forest green to the darker shadows and the far right bush.
- 4Color the sky: make the sun golden yellow and the two clouds light sky blue, leaving the sky background white around them.
- 5Add skin tones with peach skin on both faces, arms, hands, and legs, then use warm brown for the hair of the boy and mom.
- 6Finish the bouquet with sandy yellow and golden yellow flowers, soft lime leaves, and lavender purple blooms, leaving the white flowers and fence pickets white. Optional: add a little darker shading under the mom's skirt and along the fence for depth.
